Welcome to Ladywell Community Council

The AGM of Ladywell Community Council was held on  Wednesday 4th May 2011 and the following appointments were made;

Chair Person – Mrs Mary Benson

Vice Chair – Mrs Cathie Mutch

Treasurer – Mrs Sandra McLaughlin

Secretary – Ms Fiona Lindsay

Ladywell Community Council Meet in Inveralmond Community High School on the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm.  Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday the 1st June 2011.

All meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.

Meeting held 2/3/2011 at Inveralmond Community High School.

 

Present Mary Benson – Chair Cathie Mutch – Vice Chair Fiona Lindsay – Secretary Christine Brown Pamela Roberts Roy Roberts Neil Sharp – ICHS

Approval of Minutes

Minutes of Meeting held on 2/2/2011. Proposed by Cathie Mutch and seconded Christine Brown.

 

Matters Arising

  • Elma’s Path signs agreed. Mary to liase.

  • Ferns redevelopment is due to commence shortly.

  • Inveralmond Community High School activities afternoon saw 120 1st and 2nd years attend. Activities included chill zone, facebooking, cooking, dance mats and more.

  • Forestbank youth numbers slowly increasing.

  • LAC meeting discussed and Antisocial behaviour was chosen. Fiona to feedback to Rachel Johnston. Antisocial behaviour as a whole community issue not a youth issue to address the social responsibility issue.

  • Fiona to contact LB police re Alcholics loitering at Fernbank shops.

     

School Report

  • Head teachers report distributed.

  • P7 transition programme due to start. 5 day transition camp also planned.

  • Neil is to be covering Deans Community in same capacity as ICHS.

  • School as whole is facing cutbacks and difficult times ahead.

  • Overall WLC were praised by all in attendance for their forward planning and hope the cuts don’t hit too hard.

 

Treasurer’s Report

  • Balance £817.52.

Secretary’s Report

  • WL Association of Community Councils asked to attend meeting. To forward possible dates and confirm.

  • Online Fire consultation document – web link shared.

  • New ACT NOW police exercise date confirmed 31st March 2011

 

AOCB

  • Homecare in WL is now being delivered privately

  • Invitation for Craig Douglas, Ladywell Community football team to attend April meeting. Neil to Liaise.

  • Grit on paths starting to be cleared but everyone able should try to do their bit.

  • No sale yet agreed for Bangour Hospital site

  • Hospital Car Parking issues continue.

 

The Vice Chair thanked all for their input. The next meeting is set for Wednesday 6/4/2011 at 7pm in Inveralmond Community High School.
